Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

  • Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) developed from Osteopathy, and is a gentle and profound way of working with the body, assisting people with a variety of concerns, such as:

    • Acute/chronic pain

    • Migraine/headaches

    • Asthma/sinusitis

    • Sports/accidental injuries

    • Anxiety/emotional trauma

    • Joint/back problems/arthritis

    • Strengthen immune system

    • Pregnancy/post- natal care

    • Breastfeeding/colic

    • Sleep disturbances

BCST treats the body through the craniosacral system, the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The craniosacral system has a fluctuating rhythm, akin to the ebb and flow of the tides, which practitioners can feel using a very light touch at certain places of the body. The skilled hands of a Craniosacral Therapist are trained to sense imbalances and stagnation and to influence this rhythm to release restrictions in the body and dissipate tensions and the negative effects of stress.

Integrated Energy Therapy

This is a healing therapy that works with the bodies’ energy field and uses focused points on the body to channel and integrate that energy. Life can create blocks in our energy field through trauma or crisis, surgery or grief, disease, stress and fear.

The aim of IET is to replace negativity with positivity. It provides a simple and gentle way to open the flow of positive energy from cellular memory thus clearing suppressed feelings and associated energy blocks.

Reiki

Is a gentle non-intrusive therapy. It is a form of laying-on-of-hands based on the theory that universal life force (ki in Japanese) energy can be channelled for healing.

It is based on Eastern healing philosophies to help maintain mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. In this session the recipient lies fully clothed on the plinth with only shoes removed.

The therapist places hands above or on the head, abdomen and legs to help clear blockages in the tissues using the universal energy. Reiki stimulates the body’s natural healing ability, while also removing physical and emotional blockages.

Ear Candling

Ear Candling is a very old tradition used by the Hopi people in North America. It is said to be helpful for excessive wax congestion, sinusitis, rhinitis, tinnitus, vertigo, headaches, swimmers ear, snoring and glue ear as well as being a relaxing therapy in its own right.

Fully dressed the client lies on their side with their head supported on a pillow. The candle is then lit and the non-burning end is placed gently into the outer ear and turned slightly to seal it in place. The candle generates a crackling sound and a warm comfortable feeling while it draws out the impurities from the ear. It takes about 10 mins per ear. While the candle is burning down the client receives a relaxing head massage.

A light suction action and the movement of flame creates a vibration of air in the candle, generates a massage like effect on the eardrum. This induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses.

It is not recommended to use ear candles if you have a perforated eardrum, if grommets have been fitted or if there is inflammation in the ear.
